1Password has launched a platform that lets personal AI agents log into websites by auto-filling credentials you approve, so the agent never sees the actual password. You get to see and approve each login, and you can disconnect it at any time.
- Agents currently stall at sign-in pages; the workaround of pasting passwords into prompts is what this is meant to replace.
- You approve each credential request in 1Password, and 1Password fills the login directly into the destination site, keeping the password hidden from the agent and its model.
- Integrations are announced with partners including Meta's Muse, Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and xAI's Grok, with more coming. It's free for Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com, but not on the .eu or .ca domains.

1Password has released 1Password for Agents, which lets an AI agent sign into your accounts on your behalf without ever seeing your password. You approve each login attempt, and the password manager fills in the credentials itself. It comes as banks report agent activity inside customer accounts and struggle to tell whether it was requested by the user.
- The agent never gets your credentials: 1Password verifies the agent's identity with a digital key, alerts you to the login attempt, and you confirm before it signs in.
- It works with multiple assistants, including agents from Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Meta, and the startup Town, and 1Password says more partners are coming.
- U.S. banks have started detecting agentic activity in user accounts, and most can't yet tell whether it was tied to a real user request, which Axios described as "horrifying" to bankers.
